I was born and raised in the diverse and multicultural country of India and later lived in the warm Bay Area of California, USA. I currently reside in the beautiful town of Reading, United Kingdom.
As a child, I grew up listening to folk stories and always enjoyed watching classical animated cartoons and exploring the colourful art of Indian culture. My curiosity for art and my hunger to learn more about it led me to study for a Master’s in Visual Arts with Illustration as my major at Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara, Gujarat, India in 2009. After finishing my studies, I worked full-time at major studios such as Vama Communication in Ahmedabad, Maya Digital Studios in Mumbai, and Varmora Infotech in Ahmedabad. When I became a mother in 2013, I shifted my career to a work-from-home model, which helped me to grow as an artist by providing my skills for freelance projects while also taking care of and having fun with my family.
Since early on in my career, I have always enjoyed illustrating for children’s books in the kidlit publishing industry and that is why currently I am being mentored by UK’s top Publishers and University professors under the program PATHWAYS INTO CHILDREN’S PUBLISHING by Pop-Up Org., London. My parallel passion is in background designing and painting environments for the animation industry. Painting color and light is the most enjoyable experience for me, and I recently discovered that my strongest skillset is “COLOR.” Therefore, my long-term goal as an ambitious artist is to work as a Color Key Artist/Color Script Artist.
In addition to this, I am a passionate en plein air painter who can often be seen painting outdoors in any season or time. When I am not pursuing art for a living, you’ll find me attending art workshops, hiking in the woods, traveling around for various life experiences, and evangelizing art to bring out the creativity in everyone, all while having life experiences with my family.
